Letters to Myself E.08

You are about to enter the new year, 2013. This is the year that you are going to take control of yourself and get your health back. You are going to lose some weight, it really doesn’t matter the actual amount that you lose as long as you are steady with a loss during the year.
This Christmas break you really let yourself eat anything and you are down to 194.8 which was amazing. This is the lowest you have been in a while; maybe you actually were 193 but eh. You are going to see the scale drop every week whether it is by 1/2 a pound or more. You will be happy with any loss.
You are going to be participating in your first half marathon. Great things are going to be happening this year for you. Get ready to turn your life around this year and be the best that you can possible be.
If you just remember where you truly want to be in the end you are going to get through the tough parts. Stop worrying about how people are going to look at you based on the food that you are eating. You need to eat a certain way until you have your health back. You need to take care of yourself so that you can take care of your family.

Friendly Dinners 01

Wednesday, December 26, 2012 0 comments
Tonight is one of those nights that I wish we had one of our special dinners with out great friends, Ashley and Luke. I feel like it has been so long since I last saw them; even though we saw them at the beginning of the month. We are going to start getting our dinners back in order; twice a month with no excuses. I miss my friend.

I am not in a very good place right now. Physically or mentally. I don’t like anything that I wear right now. Nothing’s fits right because it seems to be too small. I need to do something about this before it gets out of control.
I don’t like the way you look at all. Why can’t I grow up and change my ways. Get my ass in gear and just do it damn it!

You are trying so hard to mentally prepare for the next phase of your families weight loss challenge. You didn’t take the first phase very seriously at all. In fact I am disappointed with how you failed to lose very much weight at all since August. You are the youngest of your family doing the challenge. You should be dropping more than 6 pounds in 5 months.
You’ve got so many ideas for your blog but you shouldn’t release those details until the new year so you can really start fresh, physically and mentally.
You’ve been watching all of the Extreme Makeover: Weightloss Edition and they have really been inspiring you to take steps in the right direction. You are going to try a new carb cycling program by Chris Powell and you feel completely comfortable with the program. 2013 is going to be your year.

You have decided to do WW again. Congrats. I hope it works out for you this time, considering you have had bad times with it in the past. You are going to work hard to eliminate soda (diet) from your diet, increase fruit and veggies intake and save junk food for the absolute best junk foods once a week (or month). You have about 90 pounds to lose and I know you would like to lose in within the next year but it could take 2-3 years too. Just don’t beat yourself up when you are a really bad meal, just get back on track immediately.
Make sure you get your workouts in weekly as well. You are working to run a half marathon by your 30 birthday and you have a long way to go. You are starting small with these 5K’s and I am so proud of you for that but you need to try to go a little further every time. Or just running for a straight 30 minutes would be amazing as well.
Just know that if you are having a really bad day just come back here and chat with your followers. They tend to be honest with you about everything. They want you to succeed just as much as you do. Make them proud to be your follower. Make yourself proud too.

You said you would get back into the low carb eating on Sunday. You ate carbs all day today. You could throw out your usual excuses but that would not be smart of you. You told yourself that this was going to be the time that you turned your life around and got a hold of your health. THIS was supposed to be the final restart. I am going to tell you one thing, START TOMORROW NO MATTER WHAT. Go to the grocery store, get all the low carb friendly food and stop pushing this further and further. You are only hurting yourself in the long run. You should have at least lost 20 pounds since August and you only have a mear 7 pounds to your name. That is really disappointing. Get your shit together Allison. Stop hurting yourself with carb loaded foods that only make you feel like shit later and put huge zits on your face!
I love you. That is why I am being so harsh. I want you to succeed but you need to start the journey and just keep going. When things get bored change them up a little. If you start missing fruit then add in some berries.
Just do this one thing for yourself and you can do everything else for your family.

This Weeks Happenings Vol. 1

This week was a little crazy in the middle. Monday was a relaxing day at home cleaning up a little. Tuesday was about the same as Monday. Wednesday was crazy. I spent most of the day trying to get ready to go to Jacksonville for the night. We had to go for Ryker to have another sleep study done.

The Beginning

This is the beginning of a journey that I have started probably a million times. I am going to stick to this journey this time. I am on a weight loss journey. I have been working on losing some extra weight that I have been carrying since my adult life. I was eating a keto diet but I found that I miss my fruits too much, so I am reading Bob Harper's The Skinny Rules, to try and find a balance to get my health back on track for life. I am not doing a diet. I am changing my lifestyle, creating new habits and increasing my daily activity. This is a journey I want to share with you and I hope you will encourage me and find some motivation in yourself to start getting healthy, unless you are already healthy of course.

Weigh In-Sept. 16

Last Week's Weight: 198 lbs
This Week: 197.5 lbs

Weight lost: .5 lbs

Half a pound in two weeks is not great, but I didn't gain any weight. I was struggling this week to stick with my Atkins lifestyle. I found that I truly miss eating fruit, oatmeal, and rice. I want to be able to eat the foods that I enjoy and lose weight at the same time. I have purchased Bob Harper's The Skinny Rules book to help me out a little. I am slowly working to get all of my eating habits turned around. I will be cleaning out my fridge and freezer pretty soon so that I can have all the good snacks that I need to help me lose the weight.

At this weigh in my friend Nate came by to help with some at home strength training tips. At first he answered some questions concerning food but then we got down to the fun stuff. He had us warm-up and really got our blood flowing. He went through a bunch of different exercises slowly and carefully to show us exactly how to do it. He also made sure we were doing it all correctly too. He gave us some tips to add some extra weight training while we work on our cardio too. It was great to have someone come to explain these things to us. I hope we can get him to come again and maybe do a yoga session with us.

You need to get back to eating a low carb diet. Stop worrying about what your husband will think of what you are shoveling in your mouth. Let his mouth drop when you get skinny and wear sexy clothes. Forget about what your family thinks of how you order, who cares what they think. You need to do this for you. Your son can eat the same stuff as you too, just add some of his yogurt snacks and pudding. You started this weight loss journey with so much fire under your arse.
You need to get the fire back, burn that flame so hard. Show all those bitches how it is done.

Today was a good day. You didn’t do good eating but you did get outside and get some physical activity in. You had a lot of fun seeing your old friend and watching her yell at her cheerleaders. You even ran after your son who thoroughly enjoyed himself out on the field with all them girls.  You should do that more often. Possibly get your mother-in-law to watch the kiddo while you go to the track and train with the cheerleaders. Or you could just run circles around them girls while they cheer, condition, and stunt. Think about it. You had a lot of fun today, it is going to help you get closer to the end goal of a healthy life.

You are completely deviating from your diet plan right now. You need to get back on it. You need to lose the weight so that you can be happy and healthy. Don’t you want your friends to be in shock when they see you in 4 years at your 10 year reunion? YES? Then get back to your low carb diet. Get back to eating the way you know works best for your body.  Take out everything in the house that is not for your diet. Put away the things your husband and child cannot live without. Make sure you have a good selection of snacks and veggies. Make sure you get veggies. You know you feel like such a drag when you eat only protein. Come on. You got this.

I want you to know that you are struggling to get back onto keto right now. Things are just hard for you to decide to eat keto. I am going to work hard to prove it to you that I can do this. I can lose the weight and be happy with my body. My arms are improving already from the LiveFit workouts that you started last week.
